the company
In the three decades since we began designing, it is perhaps not surprising that we’ve grown. With experience we have gained both creative diversity, and an ability to create work that is aesthetically, physically and commercially successful.
We have always been careful to hang on to what we believe makes designers truly resourceful; time-honed skills, natural talent and enquiring minds. We apply ourselves totally on every project, large or small, and we fuel our creativity through knowledge.
Collaborative by nature, we will lead, steer, guide, inspire and take the leap when it comes to our clients. Importantly, we will also Listen. It is this ability to pause that has created so many long-standing relationships.
what we do
On one level Checkland Kindleysides is a multidisciplinary design studio. Among other things we define strategy, create brand identities, retail environments, exhibitions, in-store merchandising and graphic communication. Whatever the brief, we are committed to working alongside our clients to answer it in the most beneficial and effective way for business.
On another level however, we don’t like to be pigeonholed quite so readily. Our years of practical experience mean that there’s more to this design studio than most.
Perhaps the biggest point of difference is our considerable on-site Workshop. What once began back in 1979 as a workbench - a place to draw and make, has over the years developed into a great resource where skilled craftsmen freely informs the design process.
